Workshops

Resources related to the Introduction to Embedded Controllers with Robots workshop series offered Summer 2009 at SUNY Albany.

Active Software Projects:

AVRRA

The AVR Robotics API (AVRRA) is open source software for AVR-GCC. This set of header files abstracts much of the use of the underlying hardware and provides many useful drivers for low-cost and popular sensors and actuators. AVRRA has been used on all of the latest blundering bots: B4, B3, and A4.

X-SERIES Control

The software that powers XR-B3. Built on top of AVRRA, the X-SERIES control system provides PC interaction through an XBee module. The software also provides a behavior switch interface and system clock. Currently, supports only AVRRA Pro Board compatible hardware.

Active Hardware Projects:

AVRRA Mini Board

PC board for the AVR microcontroller. Includes 1A power regulator, onboard dual channel motor driver, XBee wireless connection, servo headers, and multiple sensor connections. 2.4"x2.4"

AVRRA Lite Board

PC board for the AVR microcontroller. Includes 1A power regulator, onboard dual channel motor driver, XBee wireless connection, AX-12 headers, and multiple sensor connections. 2.8"x2.8", mounting holes designed for bioloid kit.

Retired Hardware Projects:

AVRRA Pro Board

PC board for the AVR microcontroller. Includes dual power channels, onboard motor drivers, XBee wireless connection, multiple sensor connections, buzzer, and USB port.
